I think the best way is to clear the passwords first. Meaning, don't try to
change the password in the 30 second interval, just clear it so that the
password is blank. Then, change it at your leisure.

I got burned on this on my first attempt, and since then I used the Cisco
CD, which has a decent step by step procedure. Use that as your source, so
you can reference it on the exam.
