1. Snapshot. For snapshot the 'dialer snapshot' statement will bring up the
link and will automatically suppress routing
updates for you so you don't need to deny RIP and SAPs when using snapshot.
2. For statics I would use the access-list below to keep the link quiet.
Then you would just add static ipx routes and saps.
access-list 900 deny any any rip
access-list 900 deny any any sap
access-list 900 permit any any
The first line says, deny all rip traffic going to any net from any net. The
second line will stop SAPs from bringing up the link. At this point you just
need to establish what traffic to let through and to what servers etc, this
you would have to figure out depending on what the ask you to trigger the
link, maybe ipx pings are only allowed to bring up the link.
Some more commands for IPX over ISDN would be 'ipx watchdog spoof' which
allows the router to reply to watchdog packets rather than sending them over
the link.
Also 'ipx spx-spoof' which again spoofs so traffic doesn't find it's way
over the link. Don't forget to use the 'no ipx route-cache' command with ipx
spx-spoof as the router now needs to look at every packet.
Hope this helps.

Subject: ipx ddr again
I need someone to help me clarify something-
1st-When using snapshot routing, what exactly needs to be specified as
uninteresting in the dialer-list?
2-When using IPX floating statics, what also needs to be specified as
un-interesting?
Does anyone have examples?
I looked at the docs and they have all different flavors. Are there any
steadfast rules here?
thanks,
