Has anybody had a good play with this stuff?
All the cisco documentation suggests Mobile IP can be an alternative to DHCP
and useful on wide-area mobility. The RFCs say it is negotiated in the IPCP
phase of a PPP negotiation - and only talks about it with reference to PPP.
Can it run on ethernet? The Cisco config sets up home-agents and
care-of-addresses (be it co-located or foreign agent) which makes it look
like it runs on ethernet.
What happens with remote networks not running PPP?
Is anyone using this yet? I see a lot of the standards were only defined in
the last 12 months....
cheers
