Normally we do not use the "rsup only" option on the serial interfaces.
This is typically used on LAN interfaces. IPX EIGRP does two functions:
1. It provides routing updates
2. It exchanges IPX SAP tables whenever there is a change in the SAP table
contents (in a link-state fashion)
If you need to have the IPX EIGRP SAP table functionality but still need to
use RIP as a routing protocol on an interface, then you would use the "ipx
sap incremental eigrp rsup only" option
Hope this helps

Subject: ipx sap-incremental eigrp
Dose anybody know when to use ipx sap-incrmetal eigrp with the paramter
rsup-only on a serial line? According to the CD, this will disable the eigrp
route exchange and permit the periodic RIP update. It's so strange since you
run eigrp as the routing process and usually you would not like to run rip
on the serial.
thanks
