Adding static entried for dlsw :
Pls try dlsw i can reach netbios name or mac address and then debug dlsw
would show you that its sedning the cap exchange runtime to remote peers and
when you do show dlsw reachability at the remote router you should see those
static entries.
If you want ONLY the static entries as part of the dlsw cap exchange
thennadd the keyword exclusive on the i can reach statements. Hope this
helps.
I am not sure adding names to netbios cache is a good way to do this.
Cheers,Padhu

Subject: dlsw+ & netbios name-caching
Hi,
Please help me with dlsw and netbios. I have just started to experiment
with
dlsw. Now i want to define some netbios name-filters and look how they
work.
Unfortunately I dont have routers with tokenring intf yet.
I have a basic scenario with routers with ethernet:
vlan1-------e0 R1 s0----------------------------s0 R2
e0---------------vlan10
I did manage to get dlsw work on the ethernet so vlan1 and vlan10 can
see
eachother. Now I would like to put some static netbios entries on R1 to
test
netbios name filterring but i dont know how to do that. I did the
following
on a 4500 with ios 12.1.1:
R1(config)#netbios name-cache 0000.0000.0001 def
R1(config)#
2d11h: NETBIOS: U chk name=def , addr=0000.0000.0001, idb=N/A, vrn=0,
type=4
2d11h: NETBIOS: U no memory to add cache entry. name=def
,addr=0000.0000.0001
I tried this on another router. I did not get the error message but the
name
still did not appeare in the netbios name-cache (sh netbios-cache).
I also tried to do something else for getting name entries in the
router. I
connected an nt server to vlan1. Still nothing.
The problem is that i have not clue how netbios works. Should i get
names in
the cache on the router this way?
So could you help me how to test netbios without having nt servers and
routers without tokenring? I am totally confused.
Thanks
