using the variance command enables IGRP to put routes into the
table that do not have equal metrics. The traffic share
command controls how they will be used. Balanced enables
using both entries and load will be proportional (not necessarily
packet by packet, that will depend on process switching/fast
switching environment). The min setting says use only the
best path. This does not disable the variance command and
both routes are in the route table. The advantage is that
if there is a problem with the best route, an alternate is in
the table and can be used immediately without having to wait
out the holdown timer etc. so convergence is much faster.
