Maybe I needed to be more clear. If this is a new router being installed
into a SRB environment, how do I know what ring number to assign the
interface BEFORE I configure the router and do a not shut on the interface.

Show source-bridge <interface> should give you the SRNs, BNs, and TRNs. If
you set two bridges with different ring numbers you will get an error. The
first one will be created, but the second one will give you an error.
Something like invalid ring number, mismatch or something..
