Gentleman,
My ntp authentication seems to work fine ! Configs as follows:
Router A
ntp authentication-key 1 md5 xxxx
ntp authenticate
ntp trusted-key 1
ntp master 1
interface serial 0
ip add 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0
Router B
ntp authentication-key 1 md5 xxxx
ntp authenticate
ntp trusted-key 1
ntp server 10.1.1.1 key 1
Then after that I do a sh ntp ass det:

I think I had the same problem, and NTP authentication only works on
broadcast NTP configurations.
If you give a specific IP address it will ignore the authentication

Subject: NTP authentication
I have 6 routers, one as NTP Master 1 and the others as NTP server
X.X.X.X (ip of master).
I have no problem getting the other 5 to pull time from the master and
clocks all synch up.
However, I cannot get authentication to work. The clients synch to
the master regardless of whether authentication is on or not. I can't
find any good examples of NTP authentication configuration. I'm sure
I'm implementing wrong. Any help?
Thanks!
