Can anyone please help me with this? I realise this is possible more OSI
than I need to know - but :
Scenario - RTRD--E0--RTRB--S0--RTRC--S1--RTRA--E0--RTRE
So RTRD is configured for DEC4 as it RTRE. RTRB & RTRA are configured for
different DEC4 networks and IS-IS. RTRC is providing the IS-IS cloud.
Here'e the problem :
RTRA#sh dec ro
Area Cost Hops Next Hop to Node Expires Prio
*1 0 0 (Local) -> 1.1
*2 20 3 (OSI) -> 1.1 Up
Node Cost Hops Next Hop to Node Expires Prio
*(Area) 0 0 (Local) -> 1.1
*1.1 0 0 (Local) -> 1.1
*1.2 5 1 Ethernet0 -> 1.2 36 64 V
RTRA#
Although both RTRA and RTRB show the OSI link to eachothers DEC4 node as up,
I can't DEC ping across.
Can a single router belong to 2 level 1 areas and route between them as a
level-2 router? Or to do Level-2 routing, do you need to have 2 level-2
routers talking over a serial link?
Thanks,
confused.
