Group members,

My friend Paul Cernick (who is also a member of this list) and I are talking wi
th O'Reilly and Associates about the possibility of publishing a series of Cisc
o-related pocket references. We are trying to determine whether or not these p
ocket references would be a good idea. O'Reilly's current pocket references ar
e about 7"x4" in size and get up to ~100 pages. They are very handy for carryi
ng information with you, wherever you may be working any given day.

Initially, we were thinking of focusing on routing protocols, such as pocket re
ferences about BGP, OSPF, IGRP/EIGRP, etc. They would cover the configuration
commands related to each routing protocol, with a goal similar to that of the C
isco command references, but we would write the descriptions ourselves. Of cou
rse, the books would also be smaller and portable, and each one would have a mo
re limited focus.

Because this mailing list is such a great resource for reaching those who work
with Cisco equipment, we thought it would be worthwhile to poll it for opinions
. We are interested in finding out what people think of this idea. We would a
ppreciate feedback about who would be interested in such books and even which t
opics would be of interest.

Thanks in advance for sharing your opinions.
