I tried to do the same thing, but the TFTP boot process is so timing
sensitive that any delays or missed packets would cause it to choke and
die. I ended up buying more flash for the routers rather than jack around
with it.
Good luck!

I have configured a router with flash as tftp server and basically i wanna
boot all my 2500 client routers sitting at the spoke to boot the
ios from this router /tftp server. tftp boot works great on ethernet ..but
when i try it across the frame it doesn't work. I have ip helper and ip
forward protocol udp on the tftp client routers...it times out and loads
the
local flash..debug tftp on the tftp server doesn't show any traffic coming
in.
What problem am i trying to solve ? ...My 2500 routers have only 8 megs
flash ..so i can't load above 11.2 and i'd like to load 11.3 and if
possible
12.x ..but i have 16 megs ram ..so tftp boot to download the ios to the ram
would help me here without upgrading the flash.
Appreciate any inputs on this.
Cheers,Padhu
