I know where this is going, even though the CCIE does prove the highest
level of networking ability, there will be so many ccie's out there soon.
Everyone in this industry wants to have it because of the 130,000 a year min
a CCIE can get. Pretty soon it wont be hard to find Cisco people, but very
hard to find Nortel,FORE,Juniper, and Cabletron engineers. This is just my
to cents : ^ )
I would say also to go with your Cisco Knowledge add some UNIX(not Linux) to
your bag of weapons.
