I have had this problem before and for some reason it worked when I removed
the ospf config entirely and then put it back. I think it must have been the
vers of the code but I can't remember what it was.

Subject: OSPF NSSA problem

I'm trying to set up an NSSA area in my lab but I guess I'm missing the
point somewhere along the line.

The physical setup is

ASBR-------ABR------Area router

The ASBR-----ABR area is defined as NSSA the ABR----Area router area is
area0.

I redistribute a connected interface into the ASBR. In the ASBR & ABR OSPF
database it shows as a type7 LSA. The ABR has the route in it's routing
table as an O N2 type route.

The problem is that on the regular area0 router the route does not show in
the routing table even though the LSA is in the database as a translated
type5 LSA.

The type5 LSA entry does not have the "Routing bit set" text when I use the
"show ip ospf data external command". So I guess that is why it doesn't
appear in the routing table but I don't know why this bit is not set.

If I make the ASBR---ABR area non NSSA I.E. just a regular area the route
shows up fine as an O E2 route.

Keith
