All,
FINALLY! Thanks to Dennis Rogell, who questioned my use of PAP authentication
on callin. And thanks to all who offered suggestions.
If I change 'ppp auth pap callin' to 'ppp auth pap' on both sides, it works fin
e. I guess the callback client wants the callback server to authenticate befor
e it will allow the callback to happen. I think with my old config, the callba
ck client never recognized it as callback, even though the server did. So the
client did not wait for the callback, as it should--it just kept trying to dial
.
Whew! After all this, I'm quite sure I will never forget to make sure authenti
cation is enabled both ways for PPP callback.
Thanks again,
Keith
