There are basically two methods to use MPLS, traffic engineering, or
TE for short, and VPNs (there is MPLS QoS as well). For information
on TE from CC0:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios120/120newft/12
0limit/120s/120s8/te_1208s.htm
And an introduction to MPLS VPNs:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/rtrmgmt/vpnsc/mpls/1_1/user
_gd/vpn_ug1.htm
Obviously a search on CCO will yield more documentation.
A new (slightly recycled) book on the topic is available called "MPLS:
Technology and Applications" (ISBN: 1-55860-656-4).
Juniper is quite serious about MPLS-TE so for a great read on what is
currently possible configuration wise, have a look at:
http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/software/junos40/swconfig-traffic-eng40/fra
meset.htm
as well as:
http://www.juniper.net/techcenter/
for various white papers and other MPLS-TE related articles.
For more information on the protocol, RFCs, drafts, FAQ, etc. go to:
and
http://www.ietf.org/html.charters/mpls-charter.html
I only know of two courses available at the moment (aside from those
at Networkers and other conferences). One is offered by Juniper and
the other by UC Santa Cruz Extension in Santa Clara CA:
http://www.ucsc-extension.edu/knowledge_is_timeless/hardware/net_index.html
However, that class if full...
