This is the errata page for the Doyle book. This should clear up a lot
of mistakes/typos that are in the book. Not sure if your question is
one of them.

Subject: Doyle; suppressing rip updates and neighbors
I've been going over Doyles book again. One of his config problems
requires that updates over a serial link be unicasts and that rip
broadcasts are suppressed. His answer has only a neighbor statement
and not passive interface also.
In my lab, the broadcasts continue to get sent out along with the
unicasts unless passive interface is used.
Am I missing something or did Jeff?
