A Word about LAT

Chandra,

LAT is a protocol developed by Digital Corporation. It was very common on the P
DP 11/23 11/34 mainframe machines in the 80's and still exists in alot of shop
s today. I actually know of some school districts that are using it right now.
First you want to enable lat on the interface
R1
interface serial 0
lat enabled <---- Must be present

lat service LAT_R1 autocommand show decnet neighbors
lat service LAT_R1 password cisco
lat service LAT_R1 enabled <--- Enable lat services

This is enough of the config to get you started. When the service is enabled th
e command show decnet neighbors will automatically be executed (make sure your
routers are in the same area). Here is a good URL from Cisco's CCO, let us know
if you don't get it running.

Hints: A translation must be done similar to XOT
Each router needs an x25 address
       Did you enable LAT services?

Cliff
