Historically, some of the scenarios came from actual TAC cases. I have no idea
if that is still true, but in my time as a consultant, I saw some pretty freak
y stuff. Some of it would have been killer CCIE lab questions.

>You really have to be smart and be able to adapt quickly.
>TRUST ME - THERE's NO TIME TO SEARCH CD AT THE LAB TIME

My experiences are only US based, but that wasn't a problem. I had a 2 hour cu
shion in day 1, 1 hour in day 2 and only used 35 min in troubleshooting. I cou
ld have spend a lot of time searching, but I didn't need to. Why? I had the c
ore technologies down cold. Lots of rack time, so that I could hammer the obvi
ous, fast. Used Caslow's 'Spot the Issues' technique. And...

>YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU NEED To FIND.

>Of course he's right.

I memorized WHERE to find what I needed on the Doc CD. I spend hours of practi
ce on the CD just navigating to sections I knew would be useful on the Lab. Ne
ed IP routing stuff; click, click, click, I'm there. Need a IPX filter; click,
 click, click, I'm there.

Overall, I used the CD on day 1 and day 2. I don't feel that it impacted me at
all. But, my PC wasn't messed up by the previous user, was reasonably quick,
etc.

>I got that - sure YOU can do that as well...
