APC PowerSwitches are very nice units... I have a few of them at home...

The effect on the electric bill isn't nearly as bad as the effect on the
wife from the "white noise" of the equipment. :) I have somewhere in the
neighborhood of 20 separate network pieces of equipment, and on or off all
the time, my electric bill varies maybe $15, and there's no saying that's
only due to the equipment....

Subject: off topic - Remote power on for lab equipment

Hello to the good people on this list...

Does anyone know of a product that can be obtained at a reasonably good
price (reasonable is defined as being $500.00 and under) that will remotely
power on equipment such as routers and switches.

I have a lab at home which I can telnet to from work from time to time but I
have leaving them on for extended periods of time.

Does anyone know what the effect of 8 2500 series routers on a home
electiricity bill?? =)

Thanks in advance!

Jon
