I have used an ISDN adapter off of the AUX port on a 2500. In my opinion, it
is a pain to configure.
Certain configurations appear to work for 11.x and others for 12.x.
Keep in mind the speed of the AUX on the 2500 is 38000, unlike an async
port, which could you potentially pump 100+k through.
While configuring an async interface, do an async ?. There are several
useful commands related to routing.
You will need to run chat scripts to configure the terminal for the various
settings. (like a BRI)
Look into running a chat script on the AUX when the interface gets up'ed.
I believe it could be helpful to configure the external ISDN adapter on a
PC/whatever to see all the AT commands for the various settings.

Subject: ISDN over AUX
Has anone ever tried to use an ISDN modem over the AUX port of a router?
We were discussing this last night in our study group and could not figure
out how it would work. My guess is it will not, but other contend it
could.
TIA!
