I do not know of a way to force EIGRP to use unicasts for all updates (and
I don't know why you would want to)... however, EIGRP will send a UNICAST
retry packet to any known neighbor that does not acknowledge a multicast
packet.

Subject: neighbor command with eigrp

Hi guys,

Is it possibile to configure EIGRP for using unicast
update between neighbors. I tried the neighbor
command and passive interface command with RIP, IGRP
and EIGRP. It worked for RIP and IGRP but not for
EIGRP.

Also I read somewhere that CLIP doesn't support
multicast. If unicast updates are not possible with
EIGRP how can we make EIGRP working over a CLIP
connection

Thanks in advance

Byju
