Someone has already provided you the correct advice on this, but I want to
add my $0.02 on the protocol itself.
In terms of learning ISIS in general, it depends on where you want to work.
If you are really into large-scale ISP backbones then ISIS is a must know
(most of the Tier 1 providers run ISIS as their primary IGP). Enterprise
networks do not generally run this protocol because not many really know it
and very few vendors support it.
A service provider based CCIE track is being worked on and I am guessing it
will certainly contain ISIS, maybe a large part of the test. ISIS is also
quite prevalent on the CCIE R&S recertification test (for IP), mainly
because the people who wrote many of the questions are from the ISP support
side within Cisco.

// I haven't heard too much about ISIS being on the exam lately. Can
// anybody give some advice as to wether we need to be "exam ready" for
// ISIS. I imagine that even if it is on the exam, it wouldn't be worth
// very much.
//
// I have also heard that Decnet has now been dropped from the exam, but no
// official word from Cisco. Any comments?
