Not sure how bellAtlantic deploys dsl but I thought they had Alcatel DSL modems
and they were setup for bridging. I think what they are doing is using PPP ove
r Ethernet.
This allows PPP to be done over a bridged DSL connect. And then you use a PPP o
ver
Ethernet client on your PC. The PC client that is mostly typically used is call
WinPoet.
So if bellAtlantic is doing PPP over Ethernet you won't be able to use a 2511
. There is
no PPP over Ethernet client support on the 2511. You need to contact bellAtlant
ic to get
your connect changed.
