I know we've had a few discussions on this, so when I ran into
this again just a few minutes ago, I wanted to share it.
I have a 170.100.42.0/28 network interface on router 1 running
OSPF and IGRP. The route showed up in router 1's table as connected. I
needed that route to be propagated to router 1's IGRP neighbor, router
2. Router 2 is just IGRP running a /24 mask.
I am redistributing OSPF into IGRP on router 1. I use the
summary-address 170.100.42.0 255.255.255.0 on router 1, which created
a summary to null 0 in the router 1 table. The route then showed up
in routers 2 route table as being sourced by router 1 and connectivity
to that network from router 2 was acheived.
It appears that the summary address can be used for redistribution
into a FLSM environment.
