Close but not quite. Both AREs and SREs will leave the TrCRF. SNA uses AREs by
default whereas NETBIOS uses SREs (aka spanning explorers) which are the reason
for the source-bridge spanning command when you use source routing and netbios
(it enables SREs). The reason for the 2 types of VLANs for TR is that some
broadcasts don't leave the local ring (can encompass multiple CRFs)such as
beacons, while others are broadcast over all rings in the source-bridging domai
n
(can be multiple BRFs). Try to think of the CRF as being a MAU and the BRF as
being a bridge to connect the different rings. Maybe someone a bit more
source-route savvy than myself can come up with a better description\mnemonic ?
