I thought I'd throw in my two cents to simplify this for you:
- the key is knowing how deep you are, i.e. how many routers you've telnetted
away from the first router.
- you can always get back to the first router by using control-shift-6-x
- if you're at the last router and want to get back to the second router you've
telnetted to, use control-shift-66-x
- if you're at the last router and want to get back to the third router you've
telnetted to, use control-shift-666-x
- and so on
- as mentioned in a previous e-mail, you can use "exit" to get the previous
router; however, if you wanted to go back to that router again you would have
to telnet to it again. If you use the control-shift-6-x method, you can just
press Return and you'll go back to the router (or use the session number and
press Return). You also wouldn't want to use "exit" three times to go back
three routers they have to manually telnet to get back again, it's far too slow
and you really don't have time for it on the lab. ;-)
