Well, advice on what to study now would be a bit late :) Here are my
standard tips:

1) Go through the CD and know where everything is located. You don't want to
waste time searching for things. When you have to look something up, you
should know exactly where to look.

2) Before you touch anything, read through the entire packet and draw your
network map according to what you see in the binder. Go through the whole
binder. Put every single stupid little detail on the diagram. Don't leave
anything out. (Are you getting the feeling this might be important?) The
diagram is only worth a point or so, but it's the most important part. It's
far better to figure out there will be a conflict on paper than in the
actual construction process. It's also the only thing you'll have to work
with when you start troubleshooting. Having a pile of detail collected on a
broken network is very helpful.
