Access lists do no have any effect on traffic generated by the router they
are applied on. Your access list would stop icmp traffic generated by, say,
a workstation located on a segment attached to router A.

Subject: curious access-list
Hi all,
I'm trying to deny icmp packets from going out of router A to router C, but
whenever I place the list on the outbound interface of router A, it does not
work.
However, if I place it on routers B or C, then it works. Does anyone have an
explanation for this?
TIA
Nnanna
