Hi folks. I'm John, and I just jettisoned the major sources of my livelihood t
o study seriously for the lab.
Why jettison the livelihood? Well, for me, some of this stuff's kinda tough.
It can take an hour just to get into the "zone." I just haven't been able to g
et that kind of time with my job responsibilities hanging over me. And I've go
tten impatient.
I'll "visit" the lab in San Jose on May 24. I don't have any illusions: I exp
ect to fail. Is it unusual to go to the lab with such an attitude? Don't get
me wrong: I'll be studying. My great hope is to make it to the second day, an
d at the moment, that's not looking too good. I'm beginning to realize that if
you're not a contender, that first day will probably weed you out. Getting di
smissed after day one is going to bother me, but I think I'll be okay.
Anyway, since my written is about to lapse, and since I don't rub elbows with a
ny CCIE's, I've decided the lab is an efficient way to get the lay of the land.
You folks are my companions, along with Caslow, Doyle, and this stack of lab
s from the boot camp.
I think I'm a few hops shy of contributing good answers, but I'll try to contri
bute some useful questions along the way.
Here goes nothing . . .
