In keeping the tradition of the "I just passed my lab" e-mail, here's mine.
I just passed the CCIE R/S exam in Halifax (about 1.5 hours ago, actually).
It was the 6th, yes 6th, time I sat the lab and was finally rewarded with
the cert. I used my company's private rack that has the following gear:
1 CAT 5500, w/LS1010, 24 10/100 ethernet and 16 token ring switch ports
2 Cisco 3640's with ATM and Ethernet
1 Cisco 2510 (terminal server)
2 Cisco 4000 w/4 serial ports and 2 T/R ports each
1 Cisco 2513
1 Cisco 2501
1 Cisco 2503
1 Cisco 1601
1 Adtran Atlas ISDN Simulator
This setup allowed me to prepare for EVERYTHING including token ring
switching. I used the same books the rest of the people who have passed
used, so I won't regurgiate the same list.
This list has been a TREMENDOUS help. I lurked for a long time and
contributed when I could. Keep the list going as it was a huge help.
I like Halifax much better than the other lab sites(I have been to San
Jose, RTP and Halifax). I liked it the best even before I passed. <g>
Keep up the hard work as it is worth it in the long run.
Time to go drink some Canadian beer.
