IPX address - auto assign or self assign ??

For ipx routing....

For easy reading, can I use my own mac address rather that the first
ethernet's MAC address...
Say for router 1:

should I just do :

ipx routing 0010.ef12.94e3 <-- assign by the router

or

ipx routing 1.1.1

I find the second method very useful and good for troubleshooting since the
MAC address is assign by
myself.

Can I use my own MAC address in the ccielab ?
