Yuan, for every dot.com wiz kid who made a million there are a thousand
guys out there busting their ass for 15 bucks an hour. Sure, we've all heard
of the guys who made a million by 30, but no one talks about the other
thousand guys who didn't!
All the time and effort I am/will spend to earn my CCIE will be well
worth it, and will be something that will see me through for the rest of my
life. It will be a steady soure of pride and considerable income, and it
won't be based on the whims of the stock market, how much venture capital I
can raise, or whose butt I have to kiss.
All my brothers ansd sisters have multiple 4 year college degrees, and
one is a cop, and none of them come close to making the money I make with an
Associates degree and a CCNP!
You can always dream of something better, and it doesn't hurt. But the
odds are you would have had a ulcer, lost your house and wife and kids, and
jumped from a tall building on Wall Street instead of making 10 million.
Sorry, but those are the statistics.
So go jump the old lady, hug your kids and dog, and grab a six pack of
cold ones and be thankful for what you have accomplished!
