I've a senario where the customer is going to implement VLAN across
the entire network...
currently they are on a flat ( VLAN 1 ) network running IP and DLC (
connection to their AS/400 ).
The whole vlan will be connected to a main router ( Cat 6000 with MSFC
) to do inter-VLAN routing (forwarding)
The AS/400 can be connected via IP or DLC using MAC address of 5000
0000 0000 mapped to an IP address.
When I break them into multiple VLANs, what are the best solution for
those DLC clients to connect to the AS/400 without changing config on
the client PC.
What are my choice of solution ??
Bridging ??
Static MAC address mapped to IP address??
TIA..
Stanley
