I just took the lab in San Jose yesterday and today. Made it to, but not
through, the morning of day 2. For info, six of us started, three made it
to day two, nobody made it to troubleshooting. Kathe is still the proctor,
and is well. She spent quite a bit of time with those of us who made it
to day 2 after giving us the bad news. She is very fair and friendly.
Although I was hoping for a better result, I respect the lab and feel that
although it's a formidable challenge it is achievable. Time management and
choosing your battles with respect to points vs. time to solve are crucial.
I think I can safely say the following:
There is more than one test, and different tests will ask you to do the
same or different things in different ways.
They are starting to mix things up a bit in terms of protocols and when
they appear.
Some of the objectives will specify constructs that are or are not allowed
to be used in order to get credit.
For example, "Prevent traffic of type X originating at source Y from
reaching destination Z. Do not use the following commands..."
I have this uncanny rememberance of having have seen a scenario quite
similar to what you are describing very recently. It can be done.
