I'm assuming your working towards the CCIE R/S. If you've got the
money, get a cat 5500 with a LS1010 blade and a LANE card. Since your
looking at the 3600's, get an ATM card for each. If you can afford an
ISDN simulator, get one and add some BRI WIC's to the 2600/3600s. Get
at least one of the 3600s with the new 1FE2W card so you can do
ISL/802.1Q from the router to the switch. Get a 2511 for term server
functionality or add an 8/16 port async card to your 3600. Or if you
don't feel you need that many ports, I used the 4 port low speed
sync/async cards in mine. Allows me to do more. Make sure to add
additional ethernet ports to your gear so you can get crazy with
meshing the routers in strange ways.
Just my 2 cents

Subject: What to buy?
Hi everyone.
I've been trying to figure out what to get for my CCIE home lab. I'm
not on the tightest budget, so I can splurge a little. I can always
sell stuff off later. I already own a 2501 and 2507. What I'm going
to add is:
*Catalyst 5000 (trying to find a cheap LS1010, but can you do anything
with just 1?)
*2600/3600, both with voice cards and token ring (because I have
little exp. with either)
Can anyone help me think of anything else I should think about
getting? Should I be set with this lab? What would you guys get if
you could have anything (to prepare for the lab)?
Thanks.
