Anything's possible...

Actually, I talked to a CPA about this and have electronically
filed claiming deductions for my CCIE study expenses. I haven't
gotten my refund (or any audit notices) yet, so I don't know
what's going to come of it. I was self-employed at the time
most of my expenses were incurred, so I used Schedule C for
my claims. I claimed travel expenses, lab fees, hardware
expenses, books, etc.- whatever I felt legitimately applied.

But the jury's still out...
