Grading is only done at three points. First is after the end of day 1. You mu
st score a minimum of 30 points out of 45 to qualify for day 2. At lunch of da
y two, you must have a combined score of 55 points out of 75 to enter troublesh
ooting. Troubleshooting is 25 points and you must have a combined total of 80
to get your number.

During the day, you will have various questions you will have to answer, each w
orth a few points. You must meet all the objectives of that question to get th
e points - no partial credit is given. That's what gets a lot of candidates.
They get 80% of the question solved, but can't get that last piece and earn 0 p
oints.

You are not allowed to observe grading. You will not be told what your grade i
s. You are only given a pass/fail. You cannot see the contents of day 2 unles
s you pass day 1. You do not know if you passed day 1 until you return the mor
ning of day 2. You will find out after lunch on day 2 whether you qualified fo
r troubleshooting. You leave the lab with your number and recertification date
if you score 80 points or more.

Most proctors will let you stay the morning of day 2 to play with the racks, if
you failed day 1. You will not have a chance to see the day 2 test.

If you fail to pass day 2, you must leave the lab. You are not allowed to stay
and play in the afternoon of day 2.

Usually, if you get to troubleshooting, you will pass.
