On the IOS version I am using 12.0(9) to test ISDN back up, if the no ip
directed-broadcast command is applied to the serial interface (which seems
to be the default), of the originating router and I use an extended ping to
verify primary, backup and line restoral, when the line restores I get a 50%
ping success rate. This would suggest maybe two available routes to the
destination but only shows a route via serial 0 in the routing table. If I
put in the command ip directed-broadcast the problem doesn't occur. Can
anyone explain why?
Thanks.
