If I am correct, the p2m technology only apply to the old revision. On the
new version 11.3 and 12.0 , you have to specify what you want, p2p or p2m.

Frame Relay is a point-to-mulitpoint technology, even if you only have two
sites, the network is capable of supporting more. You need to tell the
router to treat the circuit like a point-to-point circuit if you want the
router to act that way. If you are using OSPF you should also use the "ip
ospf network-type" statement. If you set both ends to the same thing you
can usually get by without it, but it's a good idea to state it explicitly.

It was my understanding on p2p links you do not need to specify
the broadcast because there is only one device on the farside.
If you have a multipoint (NBMA) address then you would have to specify
the broadcast on the map line.

At least that was my understanding
until i tried it again about a month ago. If i remember correctly
i also saw the broadcasts going out the multipoint without any map
statements. If anyone else could to confirm or correct the
above statement. (I was not on the mailing list then and did have
anyone to bounce it off of at that time).

Thanks
Jeff
