The equipment list on the CCIE web page is the equipment you may of may not
have to config. Thats in no way means that there is not something in the
backroom you may have to be able to talk to. So you may want to find a 1010.

In the lab cisco seem to indicate that 2500, 4000 and cat 5000/5500 are the
standard pieces of kit used. Are the ATM lab questions only related to these
bits of kit or is it necessary to get access to an ls1010 before attempting
the lab.

Well, you can issue the commands on the card, but there isn't much way to
test it, unless you have some kind of ATM switch inbetween. An old
lightstream 100 would do, if you can find out. You can put a loopback on
the ATM interface to get it UP,UP... I guess you could run some debug
commands to see if it performing correctly after that.
