Hi.
R1 ---serial link ----- R2
R1/R2 are provided with ISDN Dial Backup.
Backup Interface Command
---- If I get a scenario to provide backup from R1-->R2 and from R2--->R1 , shall I use "backup interface bri0" in the serial interfaces of both Routers ? infact putting the backup interface command at only side is also sufficient. And I tried putting it on both the sides that also work. Kindly advise.Floating Static Routes ----------------
If I want to use floating static routes to provide DIAL Backup to Serial link, Can I still use the same SUBNET on BRI interfaces as Serial Interfaces? I tried it and I am getting 50% of ping success rate. I believe this is due to the fact that BACKUP interface command puts the BRI interface in standby mode where as if I use static routes still the interface will remain UP
Please advise
TIA KHURRAM KHANI.
