I have just completed 2 intense days at Broadwing's CCIE Practice Lab
in Reston, VA. I must say that Edwin Whang's Lab Service Team
provides a CHALLENGING practice exam with in-depth scenarios. Scott
Keoseyan, Principal Engineer Lab Services, provided a professional
Candidate Evaluation (which is yours to keep), as well as answering
any questions that I had about the exam, making sure I had a firm
understanding of the concepts being tested.
They run the practice lab with 3 options (refer to the link above for
details and prices). I chose the 2 day practice lab where they
emulate all of the conditions of the actual CCIE Lab. Scott basically
performs the role of the proctor and is experienced enough to actually
be a Cisco Proctor. Colby Duong, who is a CCIE, is one of the
architects of the exam scenarios. He has written, I believe,
3 practice exams with enough "issues to spot" to keep Mr. Caslow
himself busy for hours.
The equipment is top-notch. They have 2500, 2600, 3600, 4500, 7200,
7500, LS1010, and Cat 5500. The have just received VIC network
modules with FXS cards to stump you with VoIP, along with the existing
LANE modules for ATM, and the BRI for DDR. All equipment is
terminated at a patch panel to facilitate connections which will help
familiarize you with the equipment set-up just like the Cisco CCIE
Lab.
I have been to (arguably) the best training facilities, and had some
of the best instructors: Marty Adkins, Tim Brown, Fred Ingham, James
Parks, and Lawrence Edwards. They have given me a firm
foundation, the knowledge, and experience to move forward in my
quest for the CCIE. Now, I feel, that I have been to the best prep
lab facility money can buy! Broadwing has given me the additional
skills, fine-tuning, and confidence that I needed to attempt passing
this formidable exam. Having already been to other practice labs and
been disappointed, Broadwing was everything that a practice lab should
be and more.
Thank you to the Broadwing Lab services team.
