Will a Catalyst 5000 with no default route configured use IRDP preference? This
is what I set up:

I expected the trace to go through R1, b/c it has higher IRDP preference and IC
MP redirects are turned off. Why didn't it?
Note: I want to set the mask on sc0 to 0.0.0.0, so it would ARP for everything,
but the Cat wouldn't let me do it. The shortest mask I could set was on the cl
assful boundary. Is there any way to make the Cat ARP for addresses outside it'
s own classful network? One idea I have is...
set ip route 0.0.0.0 172.16.30.3 <------ address of sc0 interface
but I am trying to do this without using static routes.
