Hi all
jaime.salazar@equant.com
asked me why bgp default-originate does not work in his quite simple lab,
and it works from one router and doesn't work from another.
I made some BGP scheme in my testbed, and found that 1750 also does not
send the default, while 2610 does.
On 1750, sh ip bgp neighbors 172.5.3.3 showed:
Default information originate, default not sent
with no good reason why it does so.
The answer is simple: this is exactly a bug.
In Cisco Bug Navigator, search for "bgp,default-originate" gives
too long listing of bugs related to that command.
So, be careful on your exam and be calm if a bug spoils your life.
Proctors are aware of many bugs and if you're 100% sure, don't hesitate
to point him to that.
Wish you happy Millenium,
Stan
