Summarization from classless to classful

I've always used statics to null0 to summarize routes; does anyone have any
feel for how appropriate that might be in the lab? I experienced just
enough flakiness with ospf summary-address & co. to actually use them in
production networks, but it's more "dynamic", so I'd bet on needing to do
this in a lab. Statics just seem to work every time, though, and they
amount to about the same thing as summary-address.
