Brad,
I've tested at RTP. No where else. I thought the lab looked fine. I've
definitely been in trashy computer rooms, but this was not one of them. The
patch panels were well worn, so be careful when you insert the twisted pair
cables. Be sure they are really in. It helps if you reach round the back and
push the socket from behind as you are inserting your cable. Other than the
patch panels, the equipment was in fine shape.
The proctor I had, Allen, was a very nice person. He informed us when start
time was, how long we would have for the portion of the lab we were working
on, and gave us a 10 minute heads up when finishing time was near.
Raleigh is a fine town with good hotels and restaurants. I stayed at the
Double Tree, and was very impressed. The drive to CISCO RTP from there gave
me a bit of a scare the first day. I got out onto the highway to find quite
a backup heading towards Raleigh. The exit for RTP is only two down from the
Double Tree though, and the trip only took 20 minutes (I'd left 50 minutes
early!).
Don't worry, you'll do fine in Raleigh.
Cheers,
