If you've used 2001 on another reverse telnet, then surely the aux port
wouldn't be using tcp port 2001 on that router?
The reverse telnet port is 2000 plus the line number, with the line numbers
generally being allocated in the order console (0), tty, aux, vty.
This means that on a bog standard, no ttys, 2500 router e.g.2503 the aux
port line number is 1, giving a reverse telnet address of 2001. Another
router with 16 tty ports could have the aux port on line 17, giving a
reverse telnet address of 2017. The basic rule is do a show line, get the
line number and do your sums!

Haven't a clue. :) That was why I originally guessed 2000. however, the
router I'm doing this from is a 4500, so there are no line ports anyway.
I'll try it on a 2509 later and see what happens.

What if you already have port 2001 used on your other reverse telnets?
