Subject: ip multicast
Hi,
I saw some ip multicast config samples. Questions are:
1. sometimes people put "ip dvmrp route-limit 7000" command in the config,
however the protocol is PIM DM or PIM SM, question is WHEN do we need to use
this command as a MUST.
2. If the question specifies rp address then we need to put "ip rp.. " with
access list point to that 224.x.x.x address, if the question does not say
specifically rp, just tell you multicast address, then we need to put "ip
igmp join 224.x.x.x" under each paritcipation interface, right? I saw both
config either use rp or igmp, just do not know when to use which one,
therefore hope some one could help me. Thanks,
Mike
