Hi everyone,
We have a new sponsor for the mailing list during the month of September,
Cannog Software! This is great news as it allows us to keep running the
list and maybe buy some upgrades to the hardware. In case you are not
aware, GroupStudy.com is not some big corporate entity, but rather a small
personal project I started to help people studying for Cisco Certifications.
The expense in running the server is relative to the bandwidth used, as we
are charged per Gigabyte. As the number of people on the list increased,
the bandwidth requirements also increased, to where it is now prohibitively
expensive to maintain.
Every once in a while we are lucky enough to have a corporation come along
and donate some money to help to help us maintain the server. The corporate
sponsorship, along with people clicking through to amazon.com from the
bookstore, has helped us pay the bills. As a thanks for the donation, we
give the corporation a banner ad on the website and some free publicity in
the form of this e-mail.
Ok, so what does Cannog Software make. They have two products, ISDNWatch
and ISDNTrace. ISDN Watch will monitor your ISDN lines and tell you the
status of your ISDN connections. You will find out immediately if you have
a configuration problem keeping the lines active, instead of a month and a
half later when the bill arrives! If you have ever setup an ISDN line in a
large corporation, I am sure you know what it feels like to be ordered into
your angry managers office to explain a very large bill - just because the
guy in the cube down the hall decided he needed his e-mail updated every 5
minutes, then went on vacation. This software will eliminate that problem.
ISDNWatch provides the network manager with a powerful logging and analysis
tool that gives detailed information on ISDN activity.
ISDN Trace will keep track of what calls are causing the ISDN line to be
established and answer the questions who, what, where, and when the
connection was made.
Both products have a free trial download from their website
http://www.isdnwatch.com. Please support our sponsor by taking a look.
Thanks,
Paul Borghese
