Hi Everyone,
{I broke the rules and sent this to the Cisco Cert list as well. I
appologize if you received duplicates of this message - Just I would really
like to help them since they have been so generous to the list}
The company that we have located the GroupStudy.com server is having a
problem configuring one of their network routers, a 7206. Since they have
been giving us a break on the cost of bandwidth for the server, it would be
nice if we could help them out. Attached is the problem as described by the
reseller of their equipment. In a nutshell they are trying to use a 7206
with two DualDS-3 modules. The Dual-DS-3 card only seem to work on the left
hand side of the Chassis. Any ideas:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cisco 7206 chassis (new)
NPE-200 200 mhz processing engine.
C7200-I/O-FE fast ethernet input/output controller
PA-4T four port serial module
PA-2T3 two port DS-3 module
currently, the 4 port serial module works in both sides of the router.
The 7206 chassis has six slots, with odd number slots on one side
and even on the other. There are two buses, with each side respectively
having one. The dual DS-3 module only works on the left hand side
(slots 1,3 and 5). Every possible component has been changed out
with a known working replacement, but the results are exactly the same.
We have also loaded five different IOS images as recommended by
Cisco TAC (Cisco Technical Assistance Center), with the same results.
So, the dual DS3 module is fully functional in the three left hand side
slots,
but does not show up in the right side. But the four port serial works in
both buses.
There is no quad DS-3 card, but again, the dual DS-3 works in all three
slots on the left hand side of the chassis.
